A wonderful apron

Yum

My great grandmother made this apron and embroidered the names on in her own handwriting. My mom discovered it in a cedar chest and gave it to me. I love it! My great grandmother, Lula Belle, was a hard woman who thought no one was doing the best job they could. However, this apron is a testament to the fact that she loved us all.

The cork board is a bulletin board I made with the wine corks of wine we consumed one year. I have also made a wreath and I have enough to do another craft. Last year I made cork reindeer ornaments!

Double click the picture to see it larger... I am "Terri Ann", sort of in the middle!

We have a container full of corks. I should do something like this. Love it!

  3. That apron is priceless...and such a lovely reminder of your heritage...your great grandmother sounded like my grandmother...she was German...such a hard worker...and never, ever wasted anything...including time...she was a treasure more so than I ever knew...I have great memories of her...so glad your mom gave you this apron...

The cork board is great...I have a friend who made one of those, too...I have collected corks over the years...I always save them from special occasions...I write the date on the cork along w/who we shared the bottle with or the occasion. I read this somewhere I didn't come up with it on my own...but I did remember to "steal"...I mean borrow that idea...and that is good for me...the remembering part...

    blessings...

  5. Hanging in my kitchen is an the first apron my grandmother ever gave me. I stayed with her before I went to school while my parents worked. We cooked together everyday and that apron is very special to me. I'm so glad that you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine!

  7. Hi Terri,
Your apron is a true family treasure.
Love the cork board too - can't beat a nice glass of wine now and then can you?!

You asked me to email you re: my dolls, but I see you don't provide your email on your profile. (I am contactable through my website.)

    Best wishes,
    Niki
