Neighborhood Picnic

Yum

My friend Kristen (Scrappin' My Bliss) has a wonderful neighborhood picnic and I have always wanted to go to one, but didn't want to plan it. Evidently someone in our neighborhood actually wanted it and wanted to plan it because we were invited to our neighborhood pavilion by the lake this past Sunday.

Many of our neighbors who came to the picnic were new to the subdivision. It was fun to meet them. We have a lot of nurses (good to know), a few physiciatrists (good to know, hard to spell) a couple of lawyers (always good to know) and a lot of handy people (very good to know).

One of Bob's teachers lives across the street. She is a blast to be around. Ashley has heard us talk about her (all NICE, Susan!) and wanted to meet her. She loved her too!

We bbqed, grilled, and brought a dish to share. We are also very good cooks (good to know!)

Here is a little glimpse into our neighborhood fun!

  3. Oh, I just love neighborhood parties. We haven't had one in a long time but I just might try to get everyone together, once it cools off out here in West Texas...

  7. I have to set a date for ours. We have it in our driveway. Other nieghbors bring canopies and we have a good time. We skipped last year due to the stresses of moving my MIL in next door but the neighbors are asking...

I love the water that is so close to you.

  9. I've always wanted to have a block party and invite all the neighbors. Your picnic looks like fun, especially with the lake for playing on.

  13. Hi, Terri!

This is my first time on your blog, and it is just great. Love your picture of the sunflowers. They are one of my favorites. I paricularly love them in blue and white porcelain and also in galvanized tin buckets. They make a great arrangement!

I followed you over from Rhoda's blog. Thanks for the sweet comments on our house over there. Really appreciate the feedback.

Here's wishing you a great day, and I'm jealous that you are on that wonderful lake having what looks to be a great picnic. I'll be right over! Just call me "Gatecrasher." ;-)

    All the best,

    Sheila

  14. It's always encouraging to hear that somewhere neighbors know each other! To know that some picnic together is fantastic. (I am forever lamenting the loss of neighborhood and community.)

  15. Hi Terri

I've enjoyed "catching up" with you tonight. My Mom and Aunt left this morning, so I'm working hard to visit all of my blogging friends.

What fun to attend a neighborhood picnic! Neighbors just don't get together often enough anymore. Looks like a fun time.

BTW...today is my blog's 3rd birthday! Amazing! Thanks for being such a sweet blogging friend!

    Hugs!
