Frugal Luxuries #3

Did you try a special dish just for yourself last week?

There is a magic in growing something, isn't there? Having something alive to care for especially in the winter months, creates an experience and connection to the earth.

This week at Walmart there were a number of small $1 plants available. Find a few of these plants, and use your china teacups to plant these small wonders in. Line your kitchen window and you will have a little haven of peace and a reminder that spring is just around the corner!

  3. Teacups along the windowsill is a very pleasing image...spring is just around the corner for some folks...it's a long four months away for us so I'll have to find a way to delight in winter.

  4. What a great idea. I may have to run to Wal Mart today. I don't have a window sill in my kitchen, but I bet I can find a place for some potted tea cups. laurie

  5. Great idea. I did put plants in teacups on my deck railing two summers ago. It was so fun. I might do it again...but since they are outside and I can't control the rain water, I would drill little holes in the bottom for drainage.

    Keep these ideas coming!

Tracey has so many cute ideas! I did plant some hyacinths today but not in a teacup, although if I can get some of my others that I'm forcing to bloom, I just may do that!
