My favorite rhyme with "Somebody (put in a name) and Somebody (add another name) sittin' in a tree....K-I-S-S-I-N-G. First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes (first name) with a baby carriage." We thought we were so cooool when we screamed that one out! I could always "jump" rope--when I would have a fairly even, slow pace to it. I hadn't done so in years, until ONE night, our aerobics teacher passed the ropes out...it took a few tries, but I got the "rhythm" back...then SHE (a stinking 30 yr old) starts doing the fast jump and rope turn of a boxer in training...I really wanted to do that, but I couldn't....she kept passing the ropes out over the next few weeks and kept trying to pretend I was Rocky as he warmed up....finally, one night, it just clicked....I was doing it....now I'm a fairly old jump roper and my younger classmates were a bit taken back at the sight of me jumping and turning the rope at a pace faster than they were going...I didn't care how foolish I looked, cuz I felt like a million....I had always wanted to do that and I was doing it!! Unfortunately, my hips and knees "spoke" to me a lot over the next couple of days...yes, that's the down side of being an Elder Jumper!! OK...I'll shut up!! :) danadanahttp://thestonerabbit.typepad.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20353823.post-11540528306900273842009-06-26T11:33:14.843-05:002009-06-26T11:33:14.843-05:00Fudge, fudge, call the judge, mama's got a bra...Fudge, fudge, call the judge, mama's got a brand-new baby. It was kind of exciting for her even with all the rain. She said that she played a new golf game called "Scramble." Ever heard of it? Anyway, it's spoiled her for ever playing real golf again.Veehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00618654361869856894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20353823.post-26219189330276053862009-06-24T21:07:30.538-05:002009-06-24T21:07:30.538-05:00Jump rope is one of the few "athletic" t...Jump rope is one of the few "athletic" things I was really good at. I lived in the water when I was young. Jumping rope was never my thing, but swimming and diving...yeah there's some great memories there! Also sweetie, you asked me about the trolly in my last post. Yes, it's just the same as what you call a shopping cart. I think it's so much fun finding out these little differences about the way we talk, don't you? Wishing you a wonderful summer day Terri!
Amanda (aka Cottage Contessa)Cottage Contessahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04927261360426676150noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20353823.post-59068218201878738012009-06-24T13:58:00.367-05:002009-06-24T13:58:00.367-05:00Hi Terri, I struggle with summer and will leave it...Hi Terri, I struggle with summer and will leave it at that. It kept going back to one in April. Anyway, just weird. Love your outdoor Wednesday pictures (Zinnias rock) and your pen sounds neat. Love to see a picture.

Awwww....summer on my grandparents farms. Fireflies, ice cream on the porch, feeding the lambs with bottles, playing hide and seek in the corn, having apple fights from the apples fallen off the trees, eating sour cherries while sitting in the tree (you had to eat until you got a bad stomachache - ha) and ride, ride, riding our bikes! That was summer.

Summer now is gardening, eating the fruits of bounty, watching granddaughters ride, ride, riding their bikes and melting into the air conditioning.Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12462124067637610359noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20353823.post-91963880238955274642009-06-24T06:29:15.538-05:002009-06-24T06:29:15.538-05:00I don't get the "...and a my name is alic...I don't get the "...and a my name is alice" it doesn't seem to go with the rhyme...I love this post idea, though!!
