Today we are making homemade gingerbread. It does add a few extra minutes in the prep time but it is so good that you don't mind it!  I am using Naked Whey ISO for my baking to up the protein level in all my treats.  With no additional flavors added, it doesn't take away from all the goodness!  There is no sugar and the powder is made with just two ingredients!  This is as clean as it gets!  It has zero carbs and 30g of protein in a 32g portion.  In addition, I add it to my iced coffee with no added flavors, so whatever coffee I am having that day tastes just like I want it to!

Next month I am going to wow you with cookies made with protein powder!  Just in time for the holidays.

FAQ

What are your favorite tips for making Spooky Gingerbread?

I like to use cookie cutters to make the shapes, especially when my grandson is home. He likes pushing the cookie cutter into the warm gingerbread.

Can you make them gluten free?

Yes, just replace the flour with a gluten free baking mix.

Is gingerbread heavy?

It tends to be a more dense bread that other breads. Serving it warm makes it all that much better, though, especially if you add butter, whipped cream or ice cream.
