How to Spend 2.5 days in Bermuda When Arriving by Cruise Ship

There’s something magical about arriving in Bermuda by sea. Watching pastel-colored houses appear against the turquoise water as the Carnival Pride pulls into port is an experience you’ll never forget. With only 2.5 days to explore this island paradise, you’ll want to make the most of your time. From charming St. George’s to pink-sand beaches and the historic Naval Dockyard, here’s a guide to help you soak in the best of Bermuda.

Day 1: Explore the History and Charm of St. Georges

Bermuda’s eastern tip is home to St. Georges, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the oldest continuously inhabited English settlements in the New World.  St. Georges is quaint and colorful.  Easy to navigate around, you will enjoy walking this charming coastal town.

Things to Do

  • Wander King’s Square – The heart of town, lined with colonial-era buildings, shops, and cafes. Don't miss the adorable shop at the Museum, full of handcrafted items and the most pleasant museum worker, ever!

  • St. Peter’s Church – Dating back to 1612, this is the oldest Anglican church outside the British Isles.  Completed by a old cemetery that sent shivers down the spine as you realized how old some of the gravemarkers are!

  • Tobacco Bay Beach – A short walk from the town center, perfect for snorkeling in calm waters surrounded by striking rock formations.  Incredible blue water, and crystal clear.

  • Fort St. Catherine – Explore the fort’s history and enjoy sweeping ocean views.

Where to Eat

  • Wahoo’s Bistro & Patio – Fresh seafood with stunning harbor views. Try the wahoo tacos or Bermuda fish chowder.  The fish sandwich made on raisin bread is delicious!

  • Tempest Bistro – A cozy spot for creative takes on local ingredients.

Day 2: Beach Bliss, Hamilton Shopping, and Dining

Start your morning with Bermuda’s world-famous beaches before heading into Hamilton for shopping, sightseeing, and dinner.  Hamilton is the capital city, with lots of beautiful government buildings.

Morning: Beaches

  • Horseshoe Bay Beach – Iconic pink sand and crystal-clear water. Go early to beat the crowds.

  • Elbow Beach – A quieter option if you prefer something more low-key.

Afternoon: Hamilton

Hamilton is the island’s lively capital, blending modern shopping with colonial charm.

  • Bermuda National Gallery – For a taste of local and international art.

  • Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity – A neo-Gothic beauty worth a stop.

Evening Dining

  • The Pickled Onion – Upscale dining with a focus on steak and seafood, plus a lively bar.

  • Port O’ Call – Known for fresh local fish and an excellent wine list.

Day 3: Half-Day at the Royal Naval Dockyard

With only a half-day before you sail back to Baltimore, spend your time at the Royal Naval Dockyard, conveniently located near the cruise port.
