A Sentence a Day~ June

I started this online journal last month and I thought I would give it a go again in June.  It's just one sentence each day.  I pay attention to word choice and sentence structure so I can articulate what I am thinking clearly.

June 1  June is such a lovely month, full of the promise of summer flowers, a celebration of our marriage, and time to open my arms wide for summer!

June 2  My work revolves around helping school leaders evaluate teachers in such a way that there is an opportunity for the teacher to see her teaching through a different lens and for the administrator to support and encourage her to give 100% every day.

June 3  I was invited to lunch with a group of administrators who had just finished their recertification process for teacher evaluation and that pleased me to no end!

June 4  Reconnecting with friends that you don't get to see everyday is such a magical moment, and I am so grateful I got to spend time with Marsha, Christie, Karlene and Barb.

June 5  I am so grateful to be a part of a sisterhood that its main focus is to provide educational opportunities for women who might not have another way to go college.

June 6  Working with new principals is fun, challenging, hopeful, encouraging and wishful, all at once!

June 7  Driving country roads in the middle of late spring is a beautiful thing to do!

June 8  Driving country roads in the middle of late spring doesn't really allow you to think much, especially if they are winding through Missouri hills.

June 9  Driving country roads in the middle of late spring for the third day in a row is a little exhausting.

June 10  I am blessed with wonderful neighbors who care about each other and the neighborhood we live in.

June 11  It is fun to wish a close friend Happy Birthday early enough in the morning that others catch on and it spreads like wildfire!  Happy birthday, Charlotte!

June 12 What a beautiful day to tour our neighbors' gardens, seeing old friends and making new ones who love gardening as much as I do!

June 13  Presented to a group of dedicated principals in Union today and was happily impressed with their dialogue and collaboration.

June 14  May the American flag fly proudly against the blue skies of our nation and may the flag fly appropriately when the President orders it.

June 15  Teaching is so fun when you have enthusiastic learners who want to soak up everything you know.

June 16  I am so grateful for a supervisor who knows that it is important to let you know how important you are to the organization, and who wants you to be happy in the work you do.

June 17  Planning parties for others is so much fun!

June 18 Anniversaries are meant to be special.

June 19  Cardinals Baseball and Father's Day are made for each other!

June 20  Lovely day to ride in a golf cart and talk about nothing with your sweetie!

June 21  Good things come to those who wait for 35 years!

June 22  Saying goodbye to someone who has helped you grow in ways you never knew you could, is difficult.

June 23. Getting ready for vacation is exhausting but I'll relax later!

June 24. 

June 25. The day the music died.

June 26. Long drives are easier when you get to nap along the way!

June 27. It's our son in laws birthday so today was all about the man who takes care of our daughter every bit as much as we do!

June 28. The Museum of Art and Grant Wood's American Gothic take my breath away every time I see it!

June 29. Homemade waffles and crispy bacon make leaving a bit more bearable. 

June 30. Home sweet home, laundry, not-so-sweet!

  1. I can totally relate to the last one. When we came home from our trip earlier this week we had a mountain of laundry, too.

  2. Sounds like you really love your job. It also sounds like you have a full life, full of love and passion, which is so inspiring. Love this idea!

  3. I agree with so many of these. I really like the bacon and waffles day. I love that you have so much happiness in life, a good partner, a good home, fun friends - sounds wonderful. I think a diary like this is a great way to remain positive.

    1. It's a way to count your blessings and acknowledge your pain, all at the same time!

  5. I used to do this, for years and years. But once I had kiddos, I lost my attention span and can no longer write any coherent thoughts! ☺

    June 29 is so me! My most requested breakfast when friends are in town or Mini Me has friends sleepover is my homemade waffles....bacon is a must in this house!

  8. This is a great idea. I used to write in a journal all the time, but always felt compelled to fill the pages. I like this line a day version as an alternative. It really focuses you.

  10. These are all great! I always feel like I don't have time to keep a journal - love the idea of keeping it short and sweet.

  11. I've kept a journal since I was about eight, yet there are so many times when I didn't record anything because I didn't want to take the time to write a long, involved entry. This is such a great idea!

  13. This is a great way to get in the habit of journaling regularly. One sentence takes the pressure off.

  14. I have always had some sort of journal that I've done. It's so much fun to go back and take a look at what I've written in the past.

  15. I tend to write a lot as you have probably guessed but I think writing a sentence is a great overview. I used to journal a lot as a kid x

  16. I also have a love/hate relationship with doing laundry. I do the best that I can trying to keep up with it but I always have a mound of dirty clothes waiting for me.
