Beviamo alla nostra! Prosecco Superiore and Happy Christmas! #ItalianFWT

I'm a little sad right now, as I am one to plan celebration after celebration during the holiday season. I have several groups of friends, and I love them all so much and one of the ways I like to show it is to cook and plan parties for them.  Finding ways to keep up the holiday spirit has been hard, even with starting my Christmas decorating early!  I like to celebrate each holiday as its own special day, and with decorating early, I feel like I have really short-changed Thanksgiving.

But now that Thanksgiving is behind us, I am looking for special ways to celebrate Christmas in ways we haven't before.  One celebration I planned was the lighting of the tree.  We purchased a new tree this year and bought our lights separately, so we could get some high tech lights.  I have been playing with the settings and I found the perfect combination of cheer and celebration!  This could become a new tradition!

And, what better way to celebrate than to have a beautiful glass of Val d'Oca Prosecco.  I received a free bottle of which we popped open right before we turned on the lights of the tree and then turned on the house.  Savoring these small but mighty moments!

I am very impressed with the work of Val d'Oca and want you to jump over here to read all their goals for creating wines that help sustain our earth.  It makes me proud to support businesses like this one.

To go with this gorgeous Prosecco, I made a beautiful dessert board designed to bring out the delicious flavors of the wine.  This board contains a Butterscotch pear, pumpkin pie slices, pecan pie stacks, and ripe persimmons.  Mixed in are dark chocolate covered cranberries.  These sweets paired beautifully with the crisp bubbles of the prosecco and lent a truly festive atmosphere to our tree lighting ceremony!

Check out the other celebratory ways to share bubbles this holiday!  Savor the small moments by celebrating in a big way!

  1. I am with you, Terri. This year - especially the holiday season - seems strange and lonely. But I'm glad you found some celebratory solace in this wine. We have also been lifting Italian bubbles throughout the year to make some otherwise dreary celebrations a little more festive. Thanks for joining me this month. And I LOVE your tree. Happy holidays!

  2. Your tree is impressive Terri! And santa on the hearth. Our Christmas decorations, well actually much of our life, is in storage in Ashland, Oregon. We thought we'd only be in France 2, maybe 3 years. I felt like I needed a 'holiday decoration fix' today and have found it here, along with what sounds like a lovely rosé Prosecco. PS: I noted those fresh cranberries (wink, wink) in your glasses. Something I still can't find here!

  3. What a lovely tree Terri! I love that you did a tree lighting. I too decorated early. Really early. I understand trying to find moments to make the season speacial without the typical gathering of those we love.
I so enjoyed the Sparkling Rose! Perhaps we were raising a glass at the same time?! Cheers!
