While it’s not always catastrophic, but it’s rarely free. But really, a little cushion built into the plan helps, but most people underestimate just how often these “unexpected” costs show up. They’re called hidden issues for a reason.

A lot of people either forget about this or literally don’t even know that this is a thing. If you go on social media enough, or at least watch content creators on there, then you know how common something like this actually is. So, changing your mind mid-reno? Completely normal. But every swap adds time, labor, and usually a delivery fee. It might seem harmless to ditch the original faucet for a trendier one, but if it means reworking plumbing or waiting an extra week for shipping, costs can sneak in sideways.

Now, sure, design flexibility is part of the fun, but it’s also a trap if it happens too often. It really can’t be stressed enough that the key is making the big decisions before the hammer swings. Changing things halfway through often hits harder on the wallet than expected.
