Lemon Forward Margarita

Wednesday #LemonWeek Recipes

Today I am sharing a very lemony margarita with you!  It is a little bit on the sweeter side, but still tangy with a crisp sour flavor.  Just like a good lemon!  In fact, use the freshest lemons you have, and instead of plain sugar, use a simple syrup to sweeten the drink.  It makes all the difference!

Lemon Forward Margarita

Lemon Forward Margarita

A sweeter margarita made with limoncello!
Prep time: 5 MinTotal time: 5 Min


  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • ½ cup simple syrup
  • 4 ounces Tequila
  • 2 ounces Limoncello
  • 1 Lemon wedge
  • Salt
  • ice


  1. In a shaker with ice, add simple syrup, limoncello, lemon juice and tequila. 
  2. Shake vigorously.
  3. Using the lemon wedge, wipe the lemon around the edge of the glass.
  4. Dip in salt.
  5. Add ice the glasses, pour mixture into glasses and serve.


For a sweeter drink, rim the glasses with sugar instead of salt.
