Mojitos with Grilled Strawberries and Mint

Did you know the mojito is one of the world's most popular cocktails? It's a delicious combination of white rum, mint, lime, sugar, and club soda. All you need to make one is a tall glass, a tall stirring spoon, and a muddler. It is also easy to incorporate other flavors like I did with these grilled strawberries.

The drink is said to have been first served in Cuba. It's a classic summertime drink with its cool mint and citrusy lime. The soda is a refreshing topper and the whole drink doesn't taste of alcohol, which is a bonus for me!

Grilled Strawberry Mojito

Super refreshing drink, perfect for BBQs.
Prep time: 5 MinTotal time: 5 Min

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoon sugar (superfine dissolves the easiest)
  • 8-10 mint leaves
  • 2-3 oz club soda (I use diet)

Instructions

  1. In a tall glass, add the strawberries, mint, sugar, and some of the club soda.
  2. Muddle together until strawberries are broken and mint leaves are bruised.
  3. Squeeze the juice of 2 lime wedges into the glass, drop them into the glass, and muddle some more.
  4. Add the rum, some ice cubes, and top with club soda.
  5. Garnish with mint, add a straw and serve.

  6. I love mojitos. The grilled strawberries add such a nice twist. I'm a little confused about the diet club soda.. do you mean diet lemon lime soda like 7-up?
