The Best Seaside Tuscan Locations you Definitely Want to Visit!

Tuscan is, hands down, one of the most beautiful Italian regions that have it all – heart-stopping landscapes, imposing Renaissance architecture, medieval villages, romantic sunset views, great gastronomy, a vibrant nightlife, and a scenic countryside featuring impressive natural reserves, lush forests, cascading hills, cypresses, olive groves, and vineyards producing award-winning wines. Another equally captivating part of Tuscany is, of course, its coastline, with the crystalline waters, sugary shores, and water sports facilities, to name a few. And, if you are wondering where to start your Tuscany coastal explorations, we have a few suggestions for you that will probably tick your boxes!

1. The Maremma Coast

The beaches along the Maremma coast provide superb opportunities for a multitude of seaside experiences. From isolated spots and wild shores to beaches with a resort vibe, there is no way you won’t find the coastal place that speaks directly to your heart! Expect a rocky background dotted with wilderness areas, long stretches of fine sand, and picturesque pinewoods-protected coves. At the same time, you can enjoy water sports, from scuba diving and water-skiing to sailing! Needless to say, the Maremma region is home to some of the most exquisite, elegant, and stylish villas in Tuscany, with spectacular levels of privacy, luxury and guest-pampering.

2. The Silver Coast

Also known as the Costa D’Argento Coast, the Silver Coast is right next to the Maremma Natural Park (a huge must-visit, if you ask us) and the Argentario Peninsula. This region comprises several beautiful areas, including the unspoiled beaches of Giannella and Feniglia, the quaint Orbetello Lagoon, and a fantastic complex of picture-perfect towns. Ideal for visitors into wine, food, golf, nature, and culture, the Silver Coast is a superb getaway option for laid-back experiences and gratifying moments by the sea and beyond that.

3. The Tuscan Archipelago

Seven spellbinding islands consist of the Tuscan archipelago – all part of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park. These protected areas pamper guests with a wide range of different adventures. Some are catered to the younger party- and fun-seeking crowds while others spoil with more peaceful ventures and awe-inspiring natural landscapes. However you plan it in your head and however you envision your stay (or visit) here, nothing can prepare you for what you’ll see and feel. Clear seas, fine sand, sites of industrial archaeology, white pebbled shores that give the sea a fascinating luminous hue, terrains featuring Mediterranean vegetation, mind-blowing seascapes, the most hypnotizing sunsets, and modern facilities to live an all-around beach experience are some of the things that can satisfy your desires for dreamy holidays.

4. The Piombino Region

The coastal areas north of Piombino are earthy heaven for those seeking relaxed beach-side moments away from the summer crowds. Of all the spots in this region, the Baratti Gulf is a sublime and magnificent Tuscan gem vaunting idyllic pine forests, golden dunes, and one of the most significant Etruscan necropolis in Italy. A bit further off is Buca Delle Fate (in the Populonia area), an extraordinarily adorable bay with pebbles and pristine views of the sea. And, if you decide to make the effort and walk the woodland trail towards the south of this wonderful bay (about a 20-minute hike), you’ll be able to spoil yourself with the half-moon-shaped, white sand beach of Cala Violina and the stunning Sterpaia Coastal Park.

Final Thoughts

Tuscany feels regal – no doubt about that. And, however you choose to spend your days and nights here, you’ll certainly become the recipient of ultimate sense-caressing endeavors and soul-pleasing experiences. In this venture, the Tuscan coastline is the ideal way to start an unforgettable summer journey this year!
