A Whole New Plan by Denise M Colby Book Review

From the very first chapter, I found myself cheering for the characters, especially Lydia and Will, as they navigated unexpected twists, difficult choices, and the possibility that God's plans might be far better than their own. Colby has a wonderful way of creating believable characters who wrestle with real-life challenges all while holding onto hope, faith, and the promise of new beginnings.  I also loved the setting and career choices for the main characters!

One of the things I appreciated most was the balance between heartfelt emotion and gentle humor. The story moves at a comfortable pace, allowing relationships to develop naturally while reminding us that sometimes the detours in life become the very roads we're meant to travel. I have experienced this myself, and with hindsight I realized that God's Plan was the best plan! It's the kind of book that made me slow down, settle into my favorite chair, and linger for just one more chapter.

"From My Reading Chair"

As I closed the book, I couldn't help but think about how often I've made plans that life quietly rewrote for me. Retirement didn't look exactly as I imagined. Becoming "Gia" happened because a little grandson couldn't quite say "Grandma." Even this blog has evolved into something I never could have planned. Reading A Whole New Plan reminded me that some of life's greatest blessings arrive disguised as interruptions. Perhaps the beauty isn't found in following our own plans perfectly, but in trusting that a better story may already be unfolding.

If you enjoy uplifting Christian fiction filled with faith, hope, memorable characters, and the reminder that God is always at work—even when life takes an unexpected turn—I think you'll enjoy A Whole New Plan. It's a comforting read that leaves you feeling encouraged long after you've turned the final page.
