In piggy-backing my earlier post, I wanted to give you a deeper dive into my skincare after 60.
My skincare routine starts with a clean face, and one of my favorite products for this step is micellar water. I like how simple and gentle it is for removing makeup, oil, and the everyday buildup on my skin without leaving it feeling stripped or overly dry. After cleansing, I give the area around my eyes a little extra attention with an eye cream designed to help with puffiness and hydration. The skin around our eyes is delicate, and I have found that taking a few extra seconds to gently apply eye cream helps me look and feel more refreshed, especially in the morning.
Next comes moisturizer, which has become one of the non-negotiable steps in my routine. My skin appreciates hydration much more than it did when I was younger, so I look for a moisturizer that leaves my face feeling soft and comfortable without being heavy. I also extend that care beyond my face by using a neck cream, applying it to my neck and décolletage rather than stopping at my jawline. None of these steps is about trying to turn back the clock. For me, skincare after 60 is about taking good care of the skin I have now. Cleansing gently, adding hydration, and giving a little extra attention to areas that need it has become a simple daily ritual that helps me start and end the day feeling cared for.
