Lemon pancakes

Breakfast is a big deal in the Steffes household.  Breakfast is Ashley's favorite meal and she can eat it any time of the day.  That being said, I am already planning our Christmas breakfast for this year.  One of the ways I plan for it is to try new things throughout the year.

Today I made lemon pancakes.  I honestly didn't think it would make the cut for our Christmas breakfast as I am the only true lemon fan in our house, but these pancakes were lightly flavored and actually made the syrup an accent.  I used the Burnham and Mills All Natural Meyer Lemon Buttermilk Pancake Mix that we purchased at The Wine and Cheese Shoppe in Clayton, Missouri.

If I can convince Ashley that these are going to be worth her holiday breakfast, don't be surprised to see them on our menu.  Maybe with a few blackberries on top!

  1. Yum, I am a die hard lemon lover. I only have one strange child who doesn't like it. Where did he come from? Thanks for your comments on my yard. I should have explained that this was a remodel as no grass would grow. We actually redid it a couple of times and this works with our location and its narrow size.

  5. I have to tell you, this is like the third rendition of this strangely shaped back yard. We have lived here 19 years and nothing ever grew. We tried lawn and a fish pond. Then I pulled out a pic from a magazine that I had saved for years and it was just like ours, a stucco home with a narrow yard and a metal fence. It was Italianate and had cement squares down the center. That was our inspiration and it looks amazingly like it. That inspired changing the decks, then the inside of the house from contemporary to Italianate! We have loved it and I can manage it myself.
