My Take
If you want a quick read while in the midst of the holiday season, you cannot go wrong with this sweet novel by author Sarah Anne Crouch. This is book three in the Shady Springs series. I haven't read the others, but I read this as a stand-alone and loved every minute of it. I do plan to read the rest, as this was a delightful novel.
Madeleine is like most brides who want to have the perfect wedding. As a youngster, she dreamt of it, but in real life, it seems as if it can go wrong; it is going wrong! Is this a sign that she shouldn't get married after all?
This is obviously a romance, but the author has a true gift in adding humor to the content. I found myself chuckling and smiling throughout the book. I experienced a bit of frustration with Madeleine, who didn't have the perspective one should have about knowing what is essential or not. Overall, I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it for a quick read now that the Christmas season is upon us.
About the Author
Sarah Anne Crouch lives in Arkansas with her husband, three children, and thousands of books. She always wanted to be an author, but spent some time as a teacher, earned a degree in library science, and makes feeble attempts to corral her small children as a stay-at-home mom. Sarah loves reading books, recipes, piano music, and emails from readers.
