Friday Faves #8

Does it seem possible I have written two months of Friday Faves already?  That's crazy!  how was everyone's week? I finished up my summer training for principals, just in time to start my teacher trainings on Friday!  I work primarily with classroom teachers and they are all getting ready for school.  This week I am sharing some of my favorite Back to School fun ideas.  Do you have any littles getting ready to go back to school?

To start, I wrote this piece about getting ready for Kindergarten and each year I update it a little and send it back out to the world. I am positive that early childhood education is the best thing for all kids. Here are the Top Ten Readiness Skills for Kindergarten.

2.  I'm starting a new feature this week called Golf Cart Tours where I will share a photo from our daily golf cart tour of our neighborhood. I'm excited to share our neighborhood with you all! This photo is of the fountains that are in the central part of the business area.

3.  I was a busy reader this week!  I finished Jell-O Girls by Allie Rowbottom.  It is about the Jell-O heirs and a curse that seems to follow the family.  I also finished Cottage by the Sea by Debbie Macomber. A sweet book that would make a perfect beach read. I am currently reading The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult. I am completely entranced by this book.  I know I will finish it before the weekend!

4.  My daughter and I finished watching the Netflix series of Amazing Interiors.  We loved it.  It is outlandish, but it was so incredibly joyful to see people living their own lives through their homes.  Plus, a couple from our town had their shipping container home featured!

5.  Have you discovered Oui yogurt?  I am obsessed with them. My favorites are lemon, peach and strawberry, but there are 11 different flavors and I have yet to try them all.  The yogurt is thicker than Greek and a bit sweeter, but with a definite tang.  I am collecting the little glass pots for a Christmas gift idea!  More on that later!  They've come out with a new line, too, called Petites, that are more like a dessert.

Weekend plans?  Our neighbors are throwing an alley party (we are all connected by the same alley!) and I plan to do some cooking for the blog.  Think Peaches, baby!  Have a lovely weekend and I'll see you next week!
