Pumpkin Spice Cheerios Marshmallow Treats #tastecreations

For October we made up some of the most fun Halloween sweet treats on the internet. You are going to enjoy what we made for you so much!  Let's get to it!

I spied Pumpkin Spice Cheerios on the grocery shelves this week and I grabbed a box, even though I don't eat cereal anymore!  I knew I wanted to make something from them and yes, rice krispies treats floated through my head, as did a lot of different cookie ideas.  We all know how easy it is to make rice krispies treats, although I have a couple of tricks up my sleeve that make them so delicious!

Pumpkin Spice Cheerios Marshmallow Treats

This take on rice krispies marshmallow treat is very "fall." The spice isn't heavy which makes them even more delicious.
prep time: 15 minscook time: 15 minstotal time: 30 mins

ingredients:

6 c Pumpkin Spice Cheerios
6 T butter
6 c mini marshmallows

instructions

Melt butter in a large saucepan.  Add marshmallows and stir until melted and still white and fluffy.  Add cereal until well coated.  Pour into a 9 by 13 pan.  The butter is enough to keep the treats from sticking.  Let cool 15 minutes and cut into squares.

So, what tricks did I use?  I made all the ingredient measures a 6 for easy remembering. I use 6 T butter because it makes the marshmallow stretch further and is easier to stir.  And, it tastes so much better.  You don't need to worry about the mixture sticking to the pan with the amount of butter in it.
