Friday Favorites #17

This is going to be an exciting weekend, my friends!  My husband and I were to go to an away Missouri football game, but the airlines messed up our tickets and we couldn't go. So instead, my husband has planned a mystery trip for us!  I'll be telling you all about it next week!

Hallmark at Dollar Tree! (affiliate)

I love Dollar Tree and needless to say, I was so thrilled when I saw that Hallmark and Dollar Tree had formed a partnership to bring us beautiful cards at a fraction of the Hallmark price. I purchased all my cards for Thanksgiving and Haloween because they were so cute!  Please note, if you do go and check these out and if you happen to purchase, then I get a small kickback.  I wanted to be transparent about this!

Nobel Prize Winner is from the University of Missouri, where I work!

Congratulations to Dr. George P. Smith, a University of Missouri Professor Emeritus for winning the Nobel Prize in Chemistry this morning. His research produced new antibodies used to cure metastatic cancer and counteract autoimmune diseases. The celebration was live-streamed for those of us who couldn’t attend. I am so excited for our University!

The (Missouri) Governor's Mansion in the Fall

I have meetings a few times a month in Jefferson City, our state's capital, and I get to look at the Governor's Mansion when I walk into our meeting place. I have always admired the architecture and the lovely grounds. Here are the mums, in a couple of weeks you should be able to see pumpkins!

Have you heard of Rothy's shoes?

I am in love with Rothy's shoes, the shoe made from recycled water bottles.  They are machine washable (air dry) and come in a loafer, sneaker, and flat (pointed toe and rounded toe) in multiple colors. Recently they conducted a campaign where someone could gift a breast cancer survivor with a pink pair of Rothy's. My daughter submitted my name and I now have a pink pair on the way to me!  Rothy's have a pretty steep price tag, but I have one pair that I have worn nearly every day for a year and they still look amazing. They are so comfortable that I wear them in place of sneakers sometimes!  If you are thinking about buying a pair, here is a discount of $20 if you use this link. I'll get $20 toward a new pair, too!  I was treated for my cancer in October of 2009, so when I get these pink shoes, my goal is to wear them every day in October!

I hope you have enjoyed this edition of Friday Favorites. I am so enjoying doing these posts for you and hope you like them as much as I do.

The next two Fridays I will not be posting a Friday Favorites as I will be posting recipes using Freaky Fruits! Come and see what that is all about!  #freakyfridayfruits

Have a fabulous weekend,
