The Secret to Perfect Slow Cooker Spaghetti and Meatballs

You might want me to tell you the secret to making slow cooker spaghetti and meatballs right away. I can understand that. However, it was years of practice and a lot of research to learn that the secret is...

The secret to successful slow cooker spaghetti and meatballs is all about proper layering.

Let's talk about something else.  Meatballs.  Meatballs are not a standard size, so you will have to determine the size of the meatball to be sure that you have a large enough slow cooker to use them all.  For some brands, I can use 20 meatballs; for others, 40.  If you use homemade meatballs, that could be like 3 or 4, depending on the size!  Whatever the case, be sure to use frozen meatballs, even if they are homemade.

So about the sauce.  Use a good one.  You will want to use a sauce that is a bit thicker since we add water to the slow cooker to help cook the noodles.  Speaking of noodles, some recipes suggest breaking up spaghetti, but I don't.  Sometimes they break when I push them (gently) under the sauce, but I don't snap them into thirds.  I like my spaghetti noodles to be long.

    1. We love the brand at Aldi's. When we splurge, we use a sauce from The Hill in Saint Louis, close to where we live. It is an Italian area of the city.
