Mayo-Less Tuna Salad That You Have to Try
July always brings the heat, and that always tells us that it's time to get outside and enjoy the prime picnic season. Strangely enough though, we hadn’t managed to squeeze in a single one this summer, which is totally unlike us. Mayo Substitute for Tuna Salad
If you're skipping out on mayo, whether for health reasons or weather-related reasons, there are plenty of alternatives you can try. Each option has its own unique twist, helping you build a healthy tuna salad recipe that's still totally yummy.
- Greek Yogurt: A creamy and tangy option, Greek yogurt offers a similar texture to mayo but with added protein and way less fat. It’s a good option to pick if you’re aiming for a healthy tuna salad without sacrificing taste.
- Mashed Avocado: This option isn't common, but it's rich and creamy, bringing heart-healthy fats and a nice flavor that blends in beautifully in tuna salad sandwiches. I decided to make Mayo-free Tuna Salad, mainly because it was nearly 100 degrees F outside at lunchtime today. I didn't want to play any games with my mayo spoiling in such hot weather. It is a simple recipe, with just four ingredients. You can make it the day before or right before you go to eat.
