Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Smoothie #PumpkinWeek

I adore chai, that lovely milky, spicy aromas that surround a good cuppa. I wanted to see if I could replicate that taste in a smoothie, and I think I did!  While you don't get the steamy goodness of chai, what you do get is a nice warming sensation from the lovely spices that will remind you of chai, with all the goodness that pumpkin brings to it.

I know we chai tea lovers can be really picky about the spices in it.  I chose my four favorites, ones that I cannot be without in a cup of chai.  For me, those are cardamom, ground ginger, peppercorns and fennel. I add pumpkin pie spice only to round out the flavors for those who aren't used to such forward spices.

This smoothie is not sweet. So I added a little cool whip on the top which adds enough sweetness but doesn't turn it into pumpkin pie!

Pumpkin season is here, and we are celebrating our love of pumpkin with #PumpkinWeek hosted by Terri from Love and Confections and Christie from A Kitchen Hoor's Adventures. All week-long 26 bloggers will be sharing over 80 pumpkin-filled recipes for all your Autumn celebrations, including breakfasts, baked goods, savory pumpkin recipes, desserts, and drinks.
