Sweet Mushroom and Muenster Burger with Tomato Jam #BurgerMonth

Welcome to GirlCarnivore’s Annual Burger Month! It’s her favorite month of the year where she challenges us to embrace her love of the patty - whatever that may mean for you - and step up your burger-making game to a #girlcarnivore approved level! Our mission, if we choose to accept it - is to create ONE original burger recipe in the month of May. Challenge accepted!

It's #BurgerMonth and with that comes Summertime Jammin' and this Sweet Mushroom Cheeseburger with Tomato Jam is like having a party in your mouth.  So many good flavors, and since we are all friends here, I affectionately call this Fridge Clean Out burger, because that's what I did to create this delicious burger.

Last year I made a fantastic burger with jalapenos that you can see here.  It was delicious and we made it often during the summer.  I think this burger will be the same way because these mushrooms are cooked in butter and garlic with some sweet tomato jam to make this delicious topping.  With the creamy Muenster cheese, this is a masterpiece.

The mushroom mixture can be made in advance and reheated before topping the burgers. If you don't have tomato jam, experiment with your favorite jams. I have peach jalapeno jam at the moment and you bet I am going to give that a try.
