Six Can Chili

This hearty chili is made with ground beef, beans, tomatoes and corn!  Add a few goo spices and this is a winner!  The chili isn't very soupy which means that it is scoopable with a tortilla chip. It's good on hot dogs, too, which makes it very, very appealing.

The chili is really good. I'll be honest, I thought that all those canned goods would make the chili too salty or too tomatoey.  It didn't do that at all. It is a wonderful blend of beef, tomatoes and beans with an occasional sweet zip of corn.

I cook it over the stove and serve it the second day.  You can easily make this chili in the crock pot and get a nice deep flavor.  I like to serve it with corn muffins.  If you haven't crumbled a corn muffin in your chili yet, do it.  Delicious and no need for saltines.

  • 1 can chopped chili flavored tomatoes
  • 1 can corn, 14.5 oz
  • 2 cans water
  • 1 T chili powder
  • 1 T dried basil
  • 1 t cumin

How to cook Six Can Chili

  1. Brown ground beef and onions together.
  2. Add the six cans of beans, corn, tomatoes, tomato paste, and water.
  3. Heat until bubbling.
  4. Add spices.
  5. Reduce heat, cook for 20 minutes.

You can use any combination of beans you love. Try to use chili tomatoes since you don't add much chili powder.

Serve with toppings of cornbread, sour cream, chopped raw onions, shredded cheese.
