Three Ways to Treat Yourself This Month

People talk about self-care all the time, it has become a phrase in its own right, but all that it really means is looking after ourselves, body and mind. We know how difficult it can be to make time to do this in our busy lives. We seem to bounce from to-do list to to-do list at work and at home as there always seems to be so much to do. The problem is that there will always be something to do, there will always be one more task that we can tick off our lists, so we need to give ourselves permission to switch off and rest from time to time. We must do this, it is essential to our wellbeing. Which is why today we want to share with you 3 ways to treat yourself this month in the hope that you will be inspired to give one of them a go.



Give yourself an afternoon off


When we say give yourself an afternoon off, we mean an afternoon off from absolutely everything.

We might take the afternoon off work from time to time, but we probably fill it with looking after children or getting things done around the house. We might take the afternoon away from housework from time to time, but we probably fill it with caring for family or running errands. We are suggesting that you take a few hours entirely for yourself to do whatever makes you happy.

We all have those little indulgences that bring a smile to our faces and help us to feel completely relaxed. It might be a long soak in the bath with a book or perhaps it is binge watching a favorite TV show. Maybe you love to bake and want to spend the afternoon experimenting with new recipes or you want to catch a new movie at the cinema. 

Get outdoors 


Spending time in the great outdoors is often underrated and yet it can give us such a boost, both physically and mentally.

Arrange a camping trip with family, take a hike in your nearby forest with friends or take your dog out on new adventures. Try to combine fresh air and exercise with surrounding yourself with nature and we can guarantee that you will return home feeling refreshed and invigorated.

Have a pamper and makeover session


We so rarely take the time to pamper our bodies, and yet we expect them to keep on working for us every single day. Make this the month that you give your body a little treat.

This can take whatever form you are comfortable with. You might go for a full spa day, book a massage or indulge in a reflexology treatment. Perhaps you will have fun at home with a pampering session including bathtime, pedicures and face masks.

You can then give yourself a makeover session if you have not updated your look for a while. Maybe you have been meaning to visit a Cosmetic Dentist or get to the salon for a brand new cut and color. You might like to pop over to YouTube for some makeup tutorials to try a few new ideas or pop to the store and buy one or two new pieces to freshen up your wardrobe.
