Everything You Need to Bring Fall Into Your Home

It’s finally fall! While everyone is looking forward to sweater weather and sipping pumpkin spice lattes, fall has so much more to offer. From the deep colors to the fun activities, this is such a beautiful time outside that you should be able to bring it inside as well. Here are some tips on how you can embrace fall from the comfort of your home.

MAKE A STATEMENT WITH BOLD COLORS.

One of the best parts of fall is the rich colors that come along with the season. Bring those colors inside to make a beautiful impact in your home. If you like to really make a statement, look for boldly colored furniture or undertake the project of painting. Fall is the perfect time of year to paint your home due to low humidity levels. If you don’t feel like doing an entire room, consider the depth a deep burgundy or burnt orange accent wall would bring to any room. If subtlety is more your style, add in small pops of bold colors. This can be achieved with flowers, pillows, blankets, rugs and decorative pieces.

INSTALL COPPER ACCENTS.

Adding touches of copper throughout your home is an easy way to bring fall inside. In your kitchen, this means with serving bowls and utensils, pans and Moscow mule mugs. Throughout the rest of your home, you can add in pieces like copper picture frames, framed mirrors, and vases. For an even more subtle touch, replace your current drawer and cabinet knobs with copper styles for a fun yet sophisticated look.

USE DIFFERENT MATERIALS.

Bringing fall inside your home is all about boldness and texture. There is no easier way to accomplish this than by mixing different materials into your decor. This can be done in a variety of ways. Like, changing your sofa to one made with leather or chenille material to match the season’s tone. You can also switch your rugs to shag or wool to complement the coziness that comes along with fall weather. Texture can also be added through glass or painted vases, metal frames, flannel blankets and fluffy decorative pillows.

USE FALL SCENTS.

The staple scents of fall are undoubtedly one of the best parts of the season. Bringing them into your home is a surefire way to make it feel like fall inside. For the more traditional people, this means firing up your oven and filling the house with the natural smell of freshly baked pies and apple crisp. Then there are candles. Everyone loves candles, both for the smell and the warm glow they emit. Pick and light your favorite fall scent and settle in for a cozy, relaxing night at home. If you’re in need of a more constant source, try a diffuser. You can buy fall blends or mix essential oils to create your own.

HAVE FUN SEASONAL ACCESSORIES.

From pumpkin patches to holidays, there is so much fun that fall has to offer. Bring that fun into your home with decorations that speak to the season. Scatter sunflowers and items adorned with them throughout your space for a fall floral touch. Of course, you also have to include the iconic symbol of fall: pumpkins. Display painted or carved ones for some whimsy or baby ones for cute accents. Whether you go to a farm and purchase real ones or buy artificial ones from a craft store, nothing says “it’s fall” quite like using pumpkins as decoration. Whatever you decide to include, embrace it and have fun with it!
