There is another benefit to doing that, which is that you will generally be avoiding supporting those businesses who simply aim to mass-produce food in the most cost-effective way possible, which often means that their environmental practices are not really up to scratch. So avoiding processed food is another way that you can kill two birds with one stone here.

Cook From Scratch

The more that you cook your own food from scratch, the less you are relying on those big corporations, so this is something to bear in mind as well. If you also grow your own fruit and vegetables in your home, you are going to be doing even more for the planet too. So make sure that you are thinking about this if you want to really do your part. You might find that you end up sticking with this lifestyle for good anyway, seeing what good it can do.
