Grocery Challenge Recipe Swap



I am participating in the Grocery Cart Challenge Recipe Swap and suggest you go over to take a look! This recipe came from my triplet, Tanya from Canada.

GUMDROP CAKE

Cream 1 C butter, 1 1/3 C sugar and beat til fluffy. Add 3 eggs (1 at a time) beating well after each addition. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk ( 1C + 4 tbsp), to which flavoring has been added. (1 tsp vanilla or lemon extract)

Dry ingredients:

3C flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Dust 1 pkg of baking gums (small gumdrops) with a couple tbsp of flour. Fold into cake batter and pour into greased and floured bundt pan OR two loaf pans.

  9. That looks very pretty, but I'm afraid that I would get a bite of green or yellow gum drop... that would bum me out:)

    The gumdrops are all through that cake really nicely.

    Becky K had a good question. I find that the gumdrops that are not completely covered in batter get a bit chewy during the baking, so I usually use a really good serated sp? knife, or even my electric knife for cutting.
