The 2011 Version of Snow Ice Cream

Sure enough, my pot was full of snow this morning when I got up!

Bob ventured out and gathered up the snow.  He then unceremoniously dumped it on the kitchen counter for me!  That's all right, I wanted the glory all to myself.

So, in order to keep true to the diets we are on, we needed to adjust the ingredients to the original snow ice cream.  I replaced the milk/cream with Almond Breeze, the sugar with Aguave, and still used regular vanilla.  I poured a cup of Almond Breeze, added in the aguave and vanilla and stirred them together.  Then I poured the mixture over the snow.

You gotta work it in.  Work it, girl!

I served it with a little apple and fig jam.  It was yummy.

I had left over snow.  Hmmm.  Did I dare?

I dared.

  1. I have never had anything close to sounding this delicious - from snow!

Ha, Terri! I just published a post with three family versions. What is it with the snow this time.

    Your snow cream looks delish!

I think Michelle's version would work for diets too. Hers was born out of necessity.

I went all out with half and half and sugar, then topped it with a shortbread cookie.;-)

Kim's was with soy milk, because Noah cannot have dairy.

The sun is shining over our way.

  3. The snow cream looks delicious! I haven't used that recipe; I normally just pour in some condensed milk!

And I love that you dared...I would have, too! :)

  4. Oh my, that looks so good. Did you share it with Bob? Before or after you surprised him? LOL

  5. Hi there...what a great idea and fun too and I could eat a ton of it and it would be OK!!! LOL

  6. I love snow cream, and went far afield to find some pristine snow that animals and children had not cavorted in! But the flavor was every bit as lovely as when I was child, if I did use Splenda!!! So glad that you had fun with the snow. I had fun right up to the minute I wasn't, lol!

  7. What a fun snow day you had!! I loved snow ice cream as kid, I haven't made it lately. Maybe this weekend.
