Outdoor Wednesday-The Governor's Mansion

Book Club was last night and as I was headed toward Madison's I noticed how lovely the tulips looked at the Governor's Mansion. Here are a few quick snapshots with my cheapy camera!

  2. Hi Terri,
I just saw your comment at the Back Porch. This is gorgeous. I think we might stop on our way to the lake. Hope they are still this beautiful by then. We want to finish up the powder room before we leave and that might be a couple of days.

The mansion looks beautiful! Last time we saw it, the scaffolding was still up.

  3. I don't think I've ever been to Jeff in the spring. Those tulips at the Mansion are wonderful--you took great photos. My husband's grandparents had a home ( in the 30s I think) right up the street from the capitol. I think maybe it was on Jefferson. We attended the Governor's Ball a few years back, when a local friend was elected to the H of R, and while there we tried to locate the house--we didn't have an address--just what my husband thought he remembered it looking like when he was little. No luck. BUT we did find the Schafer House (SP?)--that was fun to visit! They usually have a booth at the Jr. League Holiday Mart here in KC ever October. OK, I'll stop rambling!!!
Thanks for the beautiful photos! Dana

  14. Beautiful!! Do you know, does Nixon really live there? Rumors were Mattie didn't when he was elected. Not sure if that's true or not. Supposedly, he and his wife thought it was more of a museum than a home. (Govt gossip for ya!)

    The tulips are awesome...

We had to postpone our book club last evening. Hopefully we will chat about the book sometime over the weekend.
