St. Patrick's Budget Craft Hop

One thing I love about blogging is the chance to meet others all over the world who love the same things I do.  Last month I was fortunate to meet Megan from C'mon Get Crafty when she asked if there were others who liked to do budget crafting.

St. Patrick's Day Craft

Thank you for joining me for this St. Patrick's Day Blog Hop! We've got 16 crazy talented bloggers sharing St. Patrick's Day crafts - on a budget! Each blogger was given a budget of no more than $10 and challenged to create a St. Patrick's Day craft using items from the dollar store or dollar section of their local stores.

Let's meet these crafty bloggers!

As you can see, I found a lot of "things" but wasn't sure what I was going to do with any of them until I got home.  Once home I was inspired to do a few things....

This candy dish was the winner for this project, though.  I decided to put a shamrock on the lid of the jar, but as you can see, the shamrock was too large.  I simply traced a smaller shamrock on the back side and cut it out with scissors.  I used a permanent glue dot to stick the shamrock on the lid.

There were 12 shamrocks in the package, six were glittery and six were plain, like the back of the shamrock in the picture.  The other shamrocks were glued to the front of the package of cards.  Now I have 8 St. Patrick's Day cards for under $2.

Here's the end result of my St. Patrick's Day candy jar.  Super simple, hardly even a craft, but it is cheerful and fits with the decor of the season!
