Spring Salad with Herb Garden Dressing

May is National Salad Month and I want to show you how delightful it is to grow your own! There is something truly special about getting your meal from your own garden!  Most of what is on my plate here are grown in my Salad Bowl or my Herb Garden.  Isn't that fun and exciting?  I truly love the satisfaction I get from growing some of my own food.

Spring Salad with Herb Garden Dressing

A spring salad with freshly grown lettuce and salad dressing made with herbs from your herb garden.
prep time: 15 Mcook time: total time: 15 M


For the salad
  • 1 head of butter lettuce
  • 1 cup chopped ham
  • 1/4 c red onion
  • 1/2 c shredded mozzarella cheese
  • This will serve 4 people
For the dressing
  • 3/4 c mayo
  • 1/4 c sour cream
  • juice of one lemon
  • 1/3 c freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 c herbs from your garden, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic
  • salt and pepper


How to cook Spring Salad with Herb Garden Dressing

For the salad
  1. Wash lettuce and remove leaves.
  2. Divide between 4 plates.
  3. Divide ham, onion and cheese between the plates.
  4. Serve salad dressing separately and let each person top their own salad.
For the dressing
  1. In a food processor, process all ingredients until smooth.  Store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
