Rocky Road No Bakes

It's time for June's Taste Creations and we are featuring recipes with that delicious combination of marshmallow, nuts, and chocolate lovingly known as Rocky Road.

According to Wikipedia, the flavor was invented in 1929 when William Dreyer (of ice cream fame) cut up marshmallows using his wife's favorite scissors and added them to an ice cream base of chocolate and walnuts.  A chemical engineer for the ice cream company figured out a way to blend the ingredients so that the pieces remained mixed instead of sinking to the bottom.

My Rocky Road No Bakes pay homage to the original flavors of walnut, chocolate, and marshmallow, but I have put them together in a brownie/fudge-like dish that does not require any kind of baking.  It is delicious and decadent, so a little goes a long way!

My Taste Creation friends have created other wonderful dishes this month, too.  Let's check them out:

Nikki from Tikkido made Rocky Road Cookie Pizza.

Lauren from Mom Home Guide made Rocky Road Fudge

The recipe below is easy and fun.  If you decide to try it, let me know how it goes!  I tested it in my own kitchen several times like I do all recipes here on the blog.  Hearing from you about your experiences helps me adjust the recipe to make it the best it can be!
