How to Make a Perfect Steak at Home

There are many ways to make a perfect steak at home. In this article, we will explore one of the best methods for preparing this classic dish. We'll discuss what ingredients you need and how long to cook it for, among other things. So whether you're a novice or an experienced chef, read on for some helpful tips!

How to choose steak?

Choosing steak can be difficult, but steak restaurants are all over the world. There are different grades of steak and prices to match. When you buy steak at a restaurant, you do not know how it was prepared or cooked right? Steak tastes differently depending on what cut is used and how it is cooked. Ruth's Chris is a restaurant chain that is known for its quality steaks. The steaks are hand-selected and USDA Prime-graded, ensuring that you will get a delicious and tender steak every time. In addition to their world-famous steaks, they also offer a wide variety of seafood, salads, sides, and desserts which you can find on Ruth's Chris menu with prices. No matter what you choose, you're sure to love it!

Choose your preferred cut of steak. There are different cuts of beef available for you to cook into a perfect steak. Make sure that you buy the right size for your family or guests-if you're planning on cooking steak for four people, stick to the 4 ounce - 8-ounce servings. The main types of steaks are ribeye, t-bone, strip, sirloin, and porterhouse. If you have dietary restrictions, consider halal meat order online.

For starters, it is best to avoid the leaner cuts of beef because they are less tasty. Also avoid tough cuts like flank steak-if you can't find an appropriate cut for your cooking method (for example, if you have a grill but not enough time to marinate the steak), ask the staff for advice.

If you want to cook steak at home, start by reading the instruction label on the steak package so that you will know which cuts of steak are suitable for your method of cooking (grilling/frying). The meat's tenderness also plays an important part in its flavor-if buying steaks from supermarkets, be sure to avoid tough cuts like flank steak (for example). Steak should be firm to touch without squishy spots; look out for steak with a high-fat content, which is required for flavor.

If your steak came without any instructions or if you have to ask the butcher for steak suggestions, do not be shy about asking the steak shop staff what cut they use for steak au poivre. They should be happy to share their knowledge of steak cuts and cooking methods. The most important thing to remember is that steak should be high quality - look for steak that is bright and shiny and has a clean (not stale) smell.

That's why some people love cooking steak at home because they can prepare a steak they've chosen and it the way they want! So if you're wondering how to make a perfect steak, follow these simple steps.

Grilling method:

One of the best ways to make a perfect steak at home is by using an outdoor grill. Start by preheating your grill for 10 minutes, then clean the grates with a wire brush or wet paper towel until they're nice and shiny. Season the meat (oil, salt and pepper) before placing it on the grill. Cook for 5 minutes over high heat before flipping it over to cook the other side. Reduce your heat to medium and continue cooking for another 8-10 minutes depending on how you like your steak done. Simply take a peek at its color and texture - if it's too pink, then give it more time.

Repeat the steps above depending on how you like your steak done. This method is best for tender cuts of meat including sirloin, ribeye, porterhouse, and strip steaks.

If you want to make steak au poivre, allow the steaks to rest for about 10 minutes, loosely covered with foil. Sprinkle your steak with pepper (if desired) and serve with green onions. Enjoy!

Oven method:

To make a perfect steak at home and get it prepared in the oven, start by placing the steak at room temperature for 10-15 minutes.  When ready, preheat the oven to 550° Fahrenheit and let it heat up in the meantime. Rub oil all over the steak because it will prevent sticking. Season both sides of your steak with salt and pepper evenly then place a cast-iron skillet or heavy roasting pan on the stovetop. Add enough oil to coat the bottom (about 1 tablespoon) then place the steak into the skillet. Flip it over after 3-4 minutes, once the bottom is browned. Add garlic slivers to the pan and cook for another minute. Transfer to the oven and roast for about 5 minutes before removing from heat. Let your steak rest for 10 minutes before serving so all of those delicious juices can settle down.

Sous-vide method:

One of the best ways to prepare a perfect steak at home is by using sous-vide. This method gives you amazingly tender and flavorful meat every time, and all it takes is just salt, pepper and a plastic bag. Start by preheating your oven to its maximum temperature (usually 550° Fahrenheit) and prepare a large baking sheet by lining it with aluminum foil. Season your steak to taste. You can do this by brushing your meat with oil all over, then seasoning both sides using salt and pepper evenly. Preheat water in the sous-vide cooker for at least an hour so that it's as hot as possible before cooking the steak. Place your seasoned steak inside a sealable plastic bag (be sure to squeeze as much air as possible out of the bag first). Then slowly and carefully submerge it into the water, making sure that no parts of your meat are sticking out of the water, and letting it cook for about an hour. Transfer your cooked sous-vide steak to a plate and let it rest for about 10 minutes before serving.

Try one of the methods above today!

Cooking a delicious, perfect steak at home is easier than you might think - all you need are the right ingredients and methods. In this article, we've outlined three different ways to make a perfect steak: using an outdoor grill, oven or sous-vide cooker. We recommend starting with the outdoor grill method as it's the easiest and most forgiving - just be sure to follow the correct steps for your preferred level of doneness. If you're looking for something a little more adventurous, try cooking your steak au poivre with garlic slivers in the oven. And lastly, our favorite way to cook a perfect steak is by using the sous-vide technique which gives you evenly cooked meat every time. So why not try cooking your next steak at home and impress your friends with the perfectly browned, tender meat?
