Optimize Your Home’s Health

Keeping your home healthy could be easier than you think. With some simple and subtle changes, you can successfully minimize the dangers lurking in your home. By doing so, you can protect your family from harm and have a positive impact on the environment too.

To get started, take a look at these very easy ways to optimize your home’s health now…

Eradicate dust

Dust can contain a number of harmful substances, so you’ll want to remove as much as possible from your home. If you can afford to, replace carpeted flooring with wooden, laminate or tiled options. This can substantially reduce the amount of dust that is present in your home.

Alternatively, enhance your vacuuming routine and be sure to add a filter to your vacuum cleaner. Focus on mattresses, curtains, and upholstery, as well as carpets and rugs, for maximum effect.

Purify the air

By using an air purifier, you can remove a significant amount of harmful pollutants from the air. However, buying a new air purifier isn’t going to be enough to make your home healthier. Knowing how to use it is important too! You might have a number of questions when it comes to air purifiers, such as how do they work, are they really effective or where to place an air purifier? Fortunately, it’s easy to get the information you need.

Air purifiers work by removing contaminants from the air. This means you won’t be breathing them in and suffering harmful consequences. As you might expect, air purifiers are highly effective when it comes to optimizing your home’s health. As for where to place them, you’ll want to position your air purifier away from open doors and windows, if you can, but as close to potentially harmful contaminants as possible.

Reduce dangerous chemicals

We use chemicals on a daily basis, but some are more dangerous than others. The food we eat has typically been treated with pesticides, we use weed killers to maintain our gardens and spray chemical-laden air fresheners around our homes. This simply increases the chemical load that we’re exposed to and puts our bodies under an increasing amount of strain.

To minimize the harmful impact these chemicals could have, try and reduce your use of them. Opt for organic food or be sure to thoroughly wash all fresh food that you purchase. Switch chemical-laden cleaning products and scents for natural alternatives and weed your garden manually, rather than using a solution to achieve the same effect.

Keep Your Home Healthy

A healthy home gives your family a safe place to reside. In addition to this, it ensures your property is in tip-top condition. A home that’s riddled with mold, for example, will decrease in value and put your health at risk.

By taking a proactive approach to your home’s health, you can help to maintain its value and enhance your family’s health. When your home is your castle, it’s important to do everything you can to keep it safe.

  1. I wish I could eliminate the dust in our home. We live in the country on a farm and there is dirt everywhere. Also, we heat with wood and that makes for a lot of dust on it's own. I was just saying yesterday that my floors are not shiny and attracting a lot of dog hair and I would like to know how to get rid of it. I sweep, but it seems there is always some left even after mopping. Any ideas?
For home fragrances may I suggest Pink Zebra. They offer a soy wax blend to heat in a warmer and they are non toxic. You can check out my website at www.pinkzebrahome.com/cslater. I will gladly send you a sample if you would like.
